Top 20 Military Friendly Programs in the country and more
We are campus leaders in distance education. In addition to our nationally known military off-campus programs, we offer undergraduate and graduate courses across Southern Illinois and across the state and region. Moreover, our online presence is growing and prospering.
Our initiatives and programs continue to be recognized at the national level. We are ranked among the Top 20 Military Friendly Programs in the country. U. S. News and World Report ranks the College 73rd among Best Education Schools. Within the College, Rehabilitation Counseling is ranked 4th nationally, Workforce Education and Development is ranked 6th, Communication Disorders and Sciences is ranked 72nd and Social Work is ranked 82nd.
Our rankings reflect the teaching, research and service activities of the College. Our faculty serve as editors or co-editors of a dozen or more national scholarly journals, including some of the best in the respective disciplines. Overall, several dozen journals list our faculty members as associate editors, editorial board members, and reviewers. Many professional organizations have recognized the contributions of our colleagues in recent years, including the Association for Teacher Educators, the American Association for Health Education, the Education Research Association, the National Rehabilitation Association, the National Council on Rehabilitation Education, the Association for Applied Behavior Analysis International, and many others.
