The CASD offers a myriad of training opportunities for service providers and other professionals, ranging from workshops, consultation, and in-clinic training.
The Center provides specialized trainings for:
- Early Intervention Providers
- First Responders
- Daycare providers
School personnel and service providers may contact the CASD seeking on-site consultations for a student with autism, a classroom with students with autism, or for school-wide consultation services. The Center has consulted on a variety of issues, such as environmental arrangements, effective teaching methods, conducting functional assessments of challenging behavior, developing learning objectives, and motivating children to learn.

The CASD staff routinely provide workshops on a variety of topics. The complexity and depth of topics are tailored to each specific audience. Continuing education credits may also be available. Providers may contact Sherell Sparks, M.S., CRC, for more information
Experiential trainings are available for any area professional interested in learning more about working with children who have an ASD. Professionals will observe therapy with guided instruction from a CASD staff member. Additional supports may be provided as needed (e.g., printed materials).
