About Mrs. Chapman
Mrs. Chapman is a Physical Education Teacher Education instructor and the PETE Program Director for the department of Kinesiology whose current teaching responsibilities include: KIN 202 (Physical Activities for Children and Youth), KIN 314 (Methods of Teaching Elementary Physical Education), KIN 323 (Methods of Teaching Secondary Physical Education), KIN 370 (Measurement and Evaluation in Physical Education), KIN 216 (Teaching Team Sports and Activities),and KIN 416 (Introduction to Teambuilding).
Mrs. Chapman is also a faculty advisor to the PETE Club.
Having been a full-time teacher and department chair in Illinois public schools for twenty years, she is a National Board Certified Teacher with a K-12 Master Teaching Certificate, with additional Illinois teacher certifications in Science and Mathematics. Mrs. Chapman is also a trained and experienced National Board Mentor for National Board Certification candidates, and a trained and experienced Mentor for New Inductee Teachers. Mrs. Chapman has served on various IAHPERD committees and assisted in the field development of the Illinois Physical Education and Health Development Learning Standards.
