CDS student RSO awarded highest level of honor

October 10, 2013

The SIU Carbondale student RSO chapter of National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), in Communication Disorders and Sciences (CDS) program, has earned Gold status recognition in 2013. The Gold status is based on community service and professional advocacy from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).  This is the highest level of chapter honors awarded to local chapters. It represents tremendous dedication of CDS students, particularly the officers. Sixteen chapters reached this status this year out of 300 chapters.

The students of this chapter will be honored in Chicago at the November national ASHA meeting, where about 10,000 Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) will be meeting.
