Lindsey Ebers, a Southern Illinois native, obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University. It was during her undergraduate internship that she became knowledgeable of child welfare. Following her internship, she became a Child Welfare Specialist and worked with children that had been victims of abuse and neglect. She saw first-hand the effects that trauma has on children and adolescents.
Currently, she is completing her graduate internship with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Illinois where she helps children facing adversity be matched with positive, adult mentors. In her spare time, she partners with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by being a Team Leader for the annual Light the Night Walk to raise awareness and fund research for cancer treatment. Upon graduation, she hopes to provide trauma informed care to children and adolescents while educating colleagues and other professionals on trauma informed practice.
