Carol Valladares came to Southern Illinois University-Carbondale after seventeen years of service in the Crisis Therapy field. While employed at various agencies throughout the seventeen years as a Crisis Therapist, she Supervised and Trained individuals to possess those same skills needed to help save lives. She also has worked as a Behavioral Specialist working with underprivileged children. She also has four years of volunteer service as a certified Crisis hotline specialist in multiple states. She also has undergone training for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
She currently is in her final semester in the Advanced Standing MSW program. Recently, she became a Fellow for the Trauma Based Behavioral Health at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with her BSW in 1997 with the passion of helping those who are experiencing trauma and crisis in their lives. She graduated from John A. Logan College, Carterville, IL with two Associates degrees, 1997 receiving an Associate in the Arts and 1988 with an Associate in Criminal Justice, Applied Science.
Her aspirations are to continue her education to receive her Phd and instruct others in a university setting.
