Daylon Burrell is from Maywood IL, the Midwest Suburb of Chicago, Illinois. He received his Bachelors in Social Work from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale in December 2014. He has done community service projects that has focused on the empowerment of children and youth within his community and surrounding Chicago areas. He has received a plethora of macro level experience over the course of his years as an undergraduate doing outreach activities. Being placed into the Advance Standing Program for Social Work, his field of interest will be Children, Youth and Family Services. Daylon has a passion for working with children and young adults with hopes of creating programs that will focus on the vitalization and empowerment of youth to give them the ability to overcome obstacles in their lives.
Once completing his Masters in Social Work and training from the fellowship, Daylon plans on implementing his newfound skills into certain task he will soon take on. He will also be doing his internship at Brehm Preparatory School, a school that focuses on empowering students with complex learning disabilities and differences to recognize and optimize their full potential throughout their lifetime.
