Kelsie Heitman graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University in May of 2015.  She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree with an emphasis in health and mental health.  As an undergraduate student, Kelsie volunteered for various organizations and completed an internship with Caritas Family Solutions.  She also was able to become a work-study student for the Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Marion, IL.

Through personal and professional experience, Kelsie has developed a passion for military culture.  She is currently completing an internship at the VA Medical Center working with a primary care social worker.   She will also obtain clinical experience from Egyptian Public & Mental Health Department.  Upon completion of her Master’s degree, Kelsie hopes to continue serving veterans and their families.  Her ultimate goal is to provide clinical services for Veterans as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
