Lauren Worthey is a second year social work graduate student. Her concentration is health and mental health. In 2014, Lauren graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology.
Lauren has previous experience interning at the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale. For the past four years she has been a Group Fitness Instructor at the SIUC Recreational Center. It was through fitness instructing that she found her passion for helping others and making a positive impact on other’s lives.
She has high hopes of making a real difference in the lives of many, and the fellowship training will deeply enhance her clinical experience and efforts to help others. She believes in a holistic approach towards health, and feels that in order to achieve well-being one must keep all areas of health in balance. Lauren is honored by this opportunity and cannot wait to learn more about how to serve this particular population in the best way possible.
