Training

The Trauma Based Clinical Treatment training modules are designed to enhance students’ understanding of the clinical aspects of trauma based interventions. Built on a graduated framework for learning, these courses are taught by a multidisciplinary team comprised of a medical doctor, clinical psychologist, medical social worker, licensed clinical social workers, and addictions specialists. This integrated team has over 100 combined years of clinical experience and will collectively instruct the Fellows.

Training Modules

The first semester will consist of 13-weeks of training. There will be a weekly 3-4 hour training course for eight-weeks. The remaining five-weeks will be clinical presentations developed and presented by the students. This will be an interactive training between the field supervisor, expert trainer, and School of Social Work faculty member. Each student will give a 30-minute case presentation. The class and instructors will offer critical feedback.

In the second semester, fellows will attend 15-weeks of training. There will be a weekly 3-4 hour training course for nine-weeks. Similar to the first semester, the remaining six-weeks will be clinical presentations developed and presented by the students. Each student will present a 30-minute case presentation using the knowledge gained from the training modules in the second semester. The class and instructors will offer critical feedback.
