Karla Briana Horton, Ph.D., MSW
Dr. Karla B. Horton received her BA in Psychology and her MSW (Type 73 Certified) from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Dr.Horton worked for 10 years as a School Social Worker in Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Florida and Cedar Hill Independent School District in Texas. During this time she worked in elementary, secondary, and alternative school settings. Her practice experiences included the development and evaluation of counseling groups for social skills and relational aggression. She received her PhD from the University of Texas-Arlington in Social Work. Dr. Horton’s area of research is bullying; more specifically, the ecological influences of relational aggression with diverse adolescents.
