Overview:

Lisa Brown is a SIU Instructor and Director of the Southern Region Early Childhood Programs (SRECP), an Illinois State Board of Education Early Childhood Block Grant. She administers two grant programs, Preschool For All (PFA) 3-5 and Prevention Initiative (PI) 0-3. Lisa has a long history with the grant programs, and throughout the years, she has taught and supervised in several roles within the program. Lisa has more than 30 years of supervisory experience. She coordinated programming and supervised staff throughout the program’s four county region until 2012 when she became the program Director. Before her employment with SRECP, Lisa was a graduate assistant at the Child Development Laboratories (CDL) on the SIUC campus where she supervised practicum students and student teachers while observing and evaluating their preservice learning experiences. Lisa has dedicated her professional life to providing education to young children and their families in southern Illinois. She has continued this long-term commitment through writing grants, developing and implementing budgets, and teaching and directing at the Southern Region Early Childhood Programs.
