Heather Franklin is a Program Coordinator/Supervisor for the Southern Region Early Childhood Programs (SRECP), an Illinois State Board of Education Early Childhood Block Grant Prevention Initiative (PI) Program. She oversees the coordination of services to families with children birth to three years old in Jackson, Perry, Randolph, and Franklin counties. Since 1998, Heather has worked in Early Childhood Education, specifically families with children ages birth to three. During her time with Southern Region Early Childhood Programs, she has earned certificates from Parents as Teachers, Parents as Teachers Working with Teen Parents, Parents as Teachers Supervisors Institute, Baby Talk, and Mothers and Babies. Heather actively participates in several local advisory committees to keep abreast of the needs in the communities served by the program. Heather’s education and experience assists her in providing support to the program staff working with the birth to three children and families. Her leadership supports staff to provide the education and guidance needed to empower each parent as their child’s first teacher.
