COEHS Excellence Award winners recognized

Recipents of the COEHS Excellence Award were recognized during the Dean's Office luncheon Thursday, May 9, 2019.

Selections are made by the College Advisory Committee.


Outstanding Teaching Award NTT - Emily Tanner (PHRP) Emily Tanner

The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward teaching excellence in order to cultivate and nurture an environment in which high-quality teaching is recognized as the standard of performance in the College. In establishing this award for excellence in teaching, the College will recognize faculty for the high quality of their performance in the classroom, teaching innovation, commitment to student learning outcomes, and inclusive excellence in education.

University staff excellence award - Ian Ruark (REHAB)Ian Ruark

The purpose of this award is to recognize a Civil Service Staff member who has made significant contributions to furthering the mission of the College of Education and Human Services.

Teaching excellence award TT - Valerie Boyer (REHAB)Valerie Boyer

The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward teaching excellence in order to cultivate and nurture an environment in which high-quality teaching is recognized as the standard of performance in the College. Early career faculty excellence award - Justin McDaniel (PHRP), Lin Zhong (WED)Justin McDaniel and Lin Zhong

The purpose of this award is to recognize a faculty member who has made significant contributions throughout the year to his/her discipline or the SIU Carbondale community. In establishing this award for excellence in a faculty member’s early career, the College will recognize someone who demonstrates excellence in scholarship, teaching, and other professional activities.

The purpose of this award is to recognize and promote outstanding research and creative endeavors. The award is a testament to the contributions of scholarship and artistic activity which are essential to the life the College.

The purpose of this award is to recognize a graduate assistant who has demonstrated outstanding undergraduate teaching.
