The Public Health Program is transitioning to a new SCHOOL OF HUMAN SCIENCES in a new COLLEGE OF HEALTH SERVICES AND HUMAN SCIENCES in 2020. To foster a smooth transition and to incorporate other elements and faculty resources that will strengthen the doctoral program in Health Education, we have decided not to admit a new cohort of doctoral students for fall 2020; we will resume consideration of applications to the PhD program for fall 2021, beginning in December 2020.
This decision will enable faculty to provide appropriate support for current students in our heavily populated program. We want you to understand clearly that this PhD program hiatus is only temporary and NOT permanent. If it is an appropriate option for you, consider pursuing the SIUC MPH degree in anticipation of the PhD program returning in fall 2021. Your immediate application would be welcome.
