Students majoring in social work may become members of two professional organizations:
The Social Work Student Alliance (SWSA). SWSA invites guest speakers to meetings, holds career planning and placement workshops for job-hunting students and plans and coordinates visits to area agencies.
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW). NASW offers its members many opportunities such as networking, continuing education, advocacy, political action, and insurance protection. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to become members.
