SIU-WED Partnership with JALC
Southern Illinois University and the Department of Workforce Education and Development (WED) are very excited to begin offering classes through our Off Campus Degree Program on site at John A. Logan College (JALC) beginning the Fall semester of 2017. This partnership will provide an articulated and seamless transition for current JALC students or other adults in the region looking to earn their bachelor’s degree. The JALC campus offers a central location and convenient access that many of our working adults appreciate.

WED has a long history of serving adult learners and military students. So we understand your needs. Following are areas in which our bachelor’s degree specialization in Organizational Training and Development is designed specifically with students like you in mind.
- We offer a unique combination of seated and online coursework to provide the flexibility you might need when adding college to your other responsibilities.
- We consider your busy schedule. Seated courses are offered one at a time and are held on the weekends allowing working adults to participate. Classes meet on Saturday every other weekend for eight weeks. The first and last weekend, students also meet on Sunday for a total of six class attendance days per seated course.
- We value the professional experience you bring to the classroom. As a degree completion requirement, you receive college credit for qualifying work experience, technical coursework, and occupational credit.
- We provide an academic plan that map out your degree from start to finish. If you have completed the university core courses or have earned an Associate of Arts, Science, or Applied Science degree, you may be able to complete your bachelor’s degree in one year.
