This involvement allows students the opportunity to meet peers with similar interests, develop leadership skills, and build a resume and network for employment after graduation. Listed below are Student Organizations found in or associated with the School of Education.
Elementary Education Student Organization (EESO)
The purpose of the SIU EESO is to provide pre-service teachers of elementary education with resources and support services. EESO's goals are to assist students in developing the skills that will enable them to become effective teachers in an elementary setting. EESO gives pre-service teachers opportunities to attend conferences, earn scholarships, and meet other students in the program. Advisor: Louise Stearns
Higher Education Student Association (HESA)
HESA is the student organization for the graduate students in the Department of Educational Administration and Higher Education (EAHE) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The purpose of this RSO is to enhance the professional education of the membership outside of the classroom, assistantships, and internships. Advisor: Dr. Saran Donahoo
Kappa Delta Pi
